At MuktoDhoni, we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and our mobile apps — the MuktoDhoni News App (for readers) and the MuktoDhoni Reporter App (for reporters/contributors) — how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can exercise your rights.

1. Scope

This policy covers: (a) data collected on our website muktodhoni.com, (b) data collected in the MuktoDhoni News App (reader app) and MuktoDhoni Reporter App (reporter app). The Reporter App requires camera and storage access so reporters can capture or upload media for news stories.

Note: Google Play requires apps to disclose data collection, use, and sharing in-app and via the Play Store listing; the Reporter App declares camera/storage access and how that data is used. Google Help+1

2. Information We Collect

A. Information you provide directly

  • Registration details: name, email, phone (when you create an account).

  • Profile information you submit.

  • Content you submit: news text, photos, videos, captions, attachments (reporters/contributors).

B. Automatically collected information

  • Device info (model, OS version), IP address, app version, crash logs, and usage analytics.

C. Camera & Media (Reporter App only)

  • Camera: to capture photos/videos inside the app at the time you choose.

  • Storage/gallery access: to attach existing media files to reports.
    These permissions are used only for creating and submitting news content and are not used for hidden background recording or unrelated purposes. Google Play’s photo & video permissions guidance limits unnecessary broad access — we follow those restrictions. Google Help

3. How We Use Your Information

We use data to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our services and apps.

  • Enable reporters to create, edit, and publish news with media attachments.

  • Send transactional messages (account verification, security alerts).

  • Send optional notifications or promotional messages only if you opt-in.

  • Display advertisements via Google AdMob in the reader app and measure ad performance.

  • Analyze usage to improve performance and security.

4. Advertising & Third-Party Ad Services

We use Google AdMob for ads in the MuktoDhoni News App. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve ads and measure performance. You must disclose third-party ad services and cookie use to comply with AdSense requirements. Users can manage or opt out of personalized ads via device settings or Google Ad settings. Google Help+1

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website and apps may use cookies, device identifiers, and analytics SDKs to:

  • Improve user experience and app functionality.

  • Analyze traffic and app usage.

  • Deliver relevant ads (reader app).

Uploaded media are stored on our servers and retained as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. No online system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users if a security incident materially affects their data.

8. Reporter Account Responsibilities

Reporters must use their assigned credentials responsibly, submit verified and lawful content, and not share login details. Misuse may result in suspension or termination.

9. Children

Our services are not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if discovered we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights & Controls

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your account information.

  • Opt out of promotional communications and personalized ads.

11. Data Safety & Play Store Declarations

We may update this policy. We will post the updated policy in-app and on our website with the revised effective date.
